IL FILO CHE UNISCE
My illustration selected for Premio Paolo Coppini. This year's theme was "Il filo che unisce" — the thread that connects.
I started from the thread itself. From there I wanted to explore how far paper can go beyond the surface. The thread passes through the sheet, emerges, disappears, weaves around a shaped tree — over, under, over again. The way things get handed down.
On one side, an elderly man holds it. On the other, the thread becomes a swing, and a girl flies through the air.
