AIL MILANO - CHRISTIE'S AUCTIO
For the AIL Milano charity auction, in collaboration with Christie’s, I created the collage A Doppio Filo, a work that tells the story of home and community through an everyday gesture transformed into a symbol of connection: hanging out the laundry.
THE CONCEPT
The illustration was handmade, built in layers with colored card and cotton thread. I imagined a line of laundry connecting different houses, stretching from afar and finally reaching a woman who gathers it with care. This simple act of hanging laundry becomes a way to unite homes and transform them into an attentive and caring community.
THE TITLE
The title A Doppio Filo refers to an Italian saying meaning “to be connected,” reinforcing the sense of bond and community that runs through the work.
The 30 works by artists, designers, and photographers were exhibited at Palazzo Clerici and sold at auction, with proceeds going to the reconstruction of a care residence for patients and their families. This edition reflects on the concept of dwelling, highlighting the symbolic meaning of AIL Houses as spaces of sharing and hope.
